*PLEASE NOTE- Due to current changes, I am now only able to offer online time-limited therapy (6-12 weeks). For longer term GSRD therapy I recommend Pink Therapy’s directory.
Hi, I’m Katie Evans. I am a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor. I am now in private practice full time, however have previously worked with agencies specialising in loss, addiction and LGBTQ+ counselling.
My background before training as a therapist included being involved in music & performance and I feel that this has given me a real insight into life that I can use in my work. I have seen inside both the positive and negative sides. The pressure, the lifestyle, the expectations and the effect it can have on your mental health and self-worth.
I have spoken at various conferences around sex, drugs, escapism and risk taking behaviour. I also provide training in how to work with chemsex in therapy and have been published on the topic. I am also a guest lecturer at John Moores University, teaching Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity for Mental Health.
I offer a straight forward, open approach to counselling and a place to talk without fear of judgement. My style of counselling is integrative which, put simply, means that I believe that each person I see is an individual with individual needs and I have learned a range of skills and styles I can use. I have additional training in working with loss, personality disorders, trans-identified and trans-historied clients.
I am a registered member of the BACP and I hold an Advanced Accreditation with Pink Therapy, offering LGBTQIA, poly, sex worker and kink-aware therapy. I see individuals for one-to-one counselling, as well as offering ongoing therapeutic support for couples working through addiction. Sessions are currently held online using Zoom and I see clients from all over the world.

“After going through a string of therapists and still feeling the same I
felt that no one could help me. But after the first session with Katie, she
gave me hope. She immediately made me feel comfortable talking about my
depression & anxiety and she quickly got me on the road to a better head
space. Thank you Katie.”
“Without Katie I wouldn’t have been able to explore my past and deal with issues that felt really difficult. I knew that they must have been affecting my current behaviour, but I didn’t know how. Thank you for helping me feel comfortable enough to look at everything so that I could understand and move forward with my life.”
“I had been meaning to see a counsellor for years and was apprehensive about it when I finally decided to go and see Katie. She made me feel at ease instantly and is very warm and caring in her manner, and I have opened up more than I thought possible in the 8 months I have been seeing her. Thank you again Katie, you are a lifesaver, literally.”
