“56 Dean Street is a sexual health & wellbeing centre in London’s Soho. We specialise in supporting populations that experience particular vulnerabilities, or have unique needs that impact their sexual health and
In April 2016, we asked Katie to deliver a presentation at the European ChemSex Forum, to over 200 delegates/stakeholders from across Europe who were seeking to improve their cultural competency and skill set in addressing their patients/client/service users who engage in ChemSex
(the sexualised use of recreational drug use by gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men – including Transgender people). Katie spoke confidently and expertly at this conference and feedback included great praise for her generosity toward vulnerable people & her delivery of practical helpful skills to all in attendance.
In July 2016, we asked Katie to deliver a training session to multi-disciplinary ChemSex support workers from across London as part of our Dean Street Wellbeing Educational Programme. Once again, Katie expertly supported attendees to understand and adopt skills that would improve their professional care for their patients/clients, demonstrating great kindness and empathy for the varying experience of those in the room, and with all reporting that they felt more motivated and better equipped to support their patient/client groups.
We are very grateful for Katie’s contributions to our programmes and have no hesitation in recommending her highly as a public speaker and educator/trainer, or as a therapist.”
