What to expect
Sometimes in life things can get on top of us or we feel unable to cope with them on our own. If you feel that counselling could benefit you then the first step is to get in touch.
Contact me through the details listed on this page and we can arrange an initial consultation.
A consultation will last for 50 minutes and in this initial meeting we can discuss things in more detail. There is no obligation to carry on counselling after this, it is a chance to see what I’m like, how I work and for you to decide if you would like to work with me. We can discuss any expectations or fears you may have around the counselling process and what you would like to gain from it. If we decide to continue then we will establish a contract including time, confidentiality, boundaries, and how many sessions we might aim for.
Counselling sessions will be held at a set time each week and, so that you feel able to discuss whatever you like, our work will be confidential. Our relationship will require a large amount of input from you and it is my job to help you gain a better understanding of what is causing you difficulties. Once we have understanding then we are making the first steps towards change.
Often we don’t get time to ourselves to really explore and understand what is going on for us; counselling can give you that opportunity.
